A hearty amen to this. It's so true and yet the walking out of it is where the difficulty comes. If we could just see what the Lord is working in us rather than be so consumed with what the Lord will work through us.

Oh, that we would teach our young people this kind of vision!

What an excellent presentation of truth we so desperately need! What amazes me most is how quickly we discard the beliefs of the saints in the first and second centuries. These believers were closest to the Lord Himself who taught the apostles these things, even for 40 days after the resurrection (Acts 1). Why are we so confident we can improve on the essence of what the Lord's teaching conveyed to the hearts of the first apostles?

Bryan,

This is the theme that is burning on my heart. I realize how much an eschatological and apocalyptic understanding fuels the fire of my faith and ministry. I desire for those who are in my area of influence to experience the blessedness of viewing the entirety of Scripture and Christian living through this lens.

"That is the uniqueness of the faith, namely, that the things that are distant and future have an immediate and practical consequence now."

It is interesting that you posted this today because, I was actually reading about this very topic this morning.

peace,

Daniel

"I am convinced that we have woefully underestimated the damage that is done to the world and to the Church, particularly with regard to the issue of so-called entertainment."

I am afraid of how true this is. We have so saturated our minds and imaginations with man created images that we are bound to those images and therefore subject to the agenda of the men creating them. Where the imagination should be free to soar in God with just a breath of inspiration from the Spirit and the Word, it is used to being force fed the creations of other men's imaginations. Oh that our eyes would again gaze upon the eternal One.

God give us power and discernment to set a watch before our eyes!
